Eastern Uganda is ready for a new kind of leader, and Mr. Calvin Echodu is stepping forward to answer that need. He was born in Soroti District, grew up with strong values, and has both international education and local experience. Mr. Echodu is not your usual politician. He is a special kind of leader.
He works in development, builds social businesses, and takes action. For many years, he has been helping communities, even before thinking about politics.
Calvin has been leading Pilgrim Africa, a nonprofit group that has helped many people in Uganda. This group has given many scholarships to children who could not pay for school. He has led big malaria prevention programs, helped farmers grow more food, and supported young people to become leaders.
Now, he wants to take that same spirit to the NRM Central Executive Committee, where he hopes to become the Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda.
Because he puts people first, not politics.
Because to him, leadership means helping others, not just having power.
Because he is ready to listen, ready to work, and ready to deliver results.
Calvin is not like career politicians. He has worked with both global partners and local villagers. He knows how to bring needed help to Uganda. He knows how to turn ideas into real results. Most importantly, he knows the struggles and hopes of the people in Eastern Uganda — because he has lived among them and worked to make their lives better.
Calvin Echodu has decided to run against Capt. Mike Mukula, who has held the position for more than ten years. This shows that Calvin has courage and a clear plan. Many people in Eastern Uganda are saying it is time for new ideas, younger leaders, and more open leadership.
“This is not about fighting anyone,” Calvin said when he announced his campaign. “This is about fighting for chances, for better health, better schools, and better roads for our people.”
His message is already spreading fast. From Soroti to Mbale, from Kumi to Tororo — young people, women leaders, farmers, teachers, and boda boda riders are showing their support. People are talking about him on social media. His name is coming up in village meetings and on radio shows.
Mr. Echodu’s campaign could easily use the slogan: “For the People, By the People.”
He is not running for power — he is running to bring real change.
Uganda needs leaders like Calvin Echodu — people who understand real problems and offer real answers. People who lift others up. People who do more than talk about change — they live it every day.
Hope is rising in Eastern Uganda, and it has a name: Calvin Echodu.
A new chapter is starting — one where leadership is honest, visionary, and truly for the people.
