Hon. Obindu Jackson, a dedicated member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), is running for Member of Parliament for Arua Central Division, Arua City. Known for his commitment, energy, and vision, Obindu has consistently shown that he puts the needs of his community first.
Obindu’s leadership journey began during his time at Kampala International University (KIU), where he served as Guild President of the School of Allied Health Sciences, President of the Northern Students Association, and President of the West Nile Students Association. In 2020/2021, he further demonstrated his leadership by contesting for Youth MP for Northern Uganda, advocating for young people across the region.
Professionally, Obindu is a medical clinical officer and is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU). This combination of medical and legal expertise equips him to address the health and justice challenges facing Arua Central. As a human rights activist, he has consistently fought corruption and defended the rights of ordinary citizens.
A key part of his work has been supporting street vendors, who have long faced unfair evictions and arrests. Obindu has stood with them, amplifying their voices and ensuring their concerns are heard. His dedication to protecting the vulnerable highlights his commitment to fairness and inclusion.
Obindu is also a successful businessman and estimate manager in Arua City, bringing practical experience in resource management and community development.
With youth making up 78% of Arua Central’s population, Obindu’s energy, vision, and dedication have earned overwhelming support. Unlike older candidates, he represents the change and dynamism the community seeks. His loyalty to NUP and alignment with Bobi Wine’s vision make him a strong contender for the 2026 Parliamentary elections.
Respected as a true NUP foot soldier, Obindu has walked with the people of Arua, shared in their struggles, and worked to amplify their voices. Electing him means choosing a leader who will deliver real change.
