As the Electoral Commission begins the nomination process for parliamentary candidates, Teddy Anyuk Osire, the NRM flagbearer for Orungo County, has officially been nominated to contest for the seat currently held by Foreign Affairs Minister JJ Odongo. Her nomination was met with cheers as thousands of supporters from Orungo County gathered at the Amuria District Electoral Commission offices to witness the historic moment.
Anyuk first rose to public attention early last year, winning hearts across Orungo County through her strategic community initiatives. Her work includes rehabilitating roads, donating hospital mattresses, and empowering local savings groups. These efforts not only improved livelihoods but also built trust between her and the people she serves.
As her projects continued to yield visible results, her message of transformation spread widely, helping her secure the NRM flag with over 10,000 votes. This overwhelming public support highlighted the confidence her community has in her leadership and vision for progress.
Speaking to the media after her nomination, Anyuk emphasized that service delivery is her primary tool for transforming Orungo County. She vowed to continue implementing projects that address the everyday needs of her constituents, promising transparency, accountability, and sustainable development as cornerstones of her leadership.
With her nomination now official, Teddy Anyuk Osire is set to challenge one of Uganda’s senior political figures, bringing fresh energy, community-driven initiatives, and a clear vision of progress to the 2026 parliamentary race in Orungo County.
