In a notable political development, Mr. Calvin Echodu has officially been nominated to contest for the position of Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda under the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. The NRM Electoral Commission confirmed his nomination earlier today, paving the way for his official entry into the race.
Mr. Echodu expressed deep gratitude for the widespread support he has received from Ugandans across the country, with special appreciation for grassroots communities that have rallied behind his vision and candidacy.
Following the nomination, Mr. Echodu stated that he is ready and fully committed to the journey ahead. He emphasized that this moment is not just a personal achievement but a collective step forward toward delivering responsive, inclusive, and effective leadership to the people of Eastern Uganda. His remarks carried a strong message of unity, purpose, and action.
In his speech, Mr. Echodu also congratulated NRM Party Chairman and President of Uganda, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for once again offering himself to continue leading the party and the nation. He applauded the President’s enduring commitment to national development and called on fellow NRM members and citizens to work together in pursuit of a better Uganda.
Citing Helen Keller’s timeless words, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much,” Mr. Echodu reinforced the spirit of collective responsibility that defines his campaign—focused on teamwork, service, and grassroots-driven transformation.
With a growing base of support and a vision rooted in community empowerment, Mr. Calvin Echodu’s nomination marks the beginning of what many see as a promising new era for Eastern Uganda. As the campaign gains momentum, expectations are high for a dynamic and people-centered approach to leadership.
