Former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has been remanded back to Luzira Prison after appearing before the court in a case that has attracted major public attention.
The court has deferred his bail ruling, stating that the decision will be delivered electronically via email within the next 24 hours. Lukwago will remain in custody until the ruling is communicated.
He is accused in connection with allegations involving summoning Muhoozi Kainerugaba after claims related to threats against opposition leader Kizza Besigye. He is also reportedly facing treason charges, making the case more serious.
The proceedings have drawn wide public interest, with many awaiting the court’s final decision on his bail application.
