The police in Wakiso are investigating a double homicide that occurred in Bulaga on April 11, 2025, at 10:30 pm.
Initially, police were informed that Mayanja Umar, a casual worker, had taken his own life near Bulaga Daily Market.
However, upon responding to the scene, they discovered that Mayanja had murdered his girlfriend, Namakula Sumaya, also known as Nakijjoba Jackie.
According to the investigation, Mayanja Umar allegedly killed Namakula Sumaya before taking his own life in a nearby unoccupied room.
The suspect is believed to have purchased ropes from a nearby shop, which he used to hang himself.
It was also found that Mayanja used a hammer and knives to murder Namakula Sumaya.
SSP Patrick Onyango the police spokesperson Kampala metropolitan area said, both bodies were taken to the city mortuary for a postmortem examination.
The police are continuing with the investigations into matter.
