Just In!! Athanas Matibo Declares 2026 MP Bid for Namisindwa County — Here’s Why He Stands Out

Must read

Athanas Matibo, a respected lawyer, entrepreneur, and community advocate, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Member of Parliament seat for Namisindwa County in the upcoming 2026 general elections. Anchored in the powerful scripture from Luke 1:37 — “For nothing is impossible with God” — Matibo steps forward with faith, proven experience, and a deep desire to serve his people.

Matibo’s story is rooted in the realities faced by many in Namisindwa. Growing up in a humble household, he personally experienced the long treks to school, the hardships of poor healthcare, and the struggles of unemployment. More importantly, he understands the pain of being let down by leaders who forget the needs of those who elected them. These experiences have fueled his passion to lead — not for power, but to be a true representative of the people.

Academically, Matibo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law, another in Procurement and Logistics Management, and a Diploma in Bible Leadership (Theology). This diverse educational background reflects his commitment to learning, discipline, and values-based leadership. But beyond academic credentials, Matibo is known for his compassion — especially for the youth, women, small-scale farmers, and entrepreneurs striving to make ends meet.

In Kampala, he successfully runs two businesses: Mati Suppliers International SMC Ltd and Mati Loans (U) Ltd. Through these ventures, he has created jobs and uplifted families financially. He believes Namisindwa deserves leaders who not only speak but deliver — leaders with the ability to turn plans into progress.

“I’m not seeking a seat in Parliament just to occupy it,” Matibo affirms. “I’m stepping up to represent the dreams of our people. I understand the sting of being overlooked, the weight of poverty, and the transformative power of opportunity. I want to be the leader who listens, who acts, and who delivers real results.”

His campaign promises are focused and practical: improving road infrastructure, ensuring access to clean water, empowering the youth, supporting small businesses through access to credit, improving schools, and strengthening health services. He also pledges to champion transparency and actively fight corruption.

Running under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), a party known for advocating fairness, justice, and pro-people leadership, Matibo is positioning himself as a servant leader, not just a title holder.

“Leadership isn’t about titles,” he says. “It’s about responsibility. Trust me — I don’t just want to lead. I want to serve with all my heart.”

With a combination of legal acumen, business expertise, spiritual grounding, and a people-first mindset, Athanas Matibo is ready to represent Namisindwa County in Parliament from 2026 to 2031 — with integrity, commitment, and tangible action.
