Garvin Kasirye Ggwanga, son of the late Maj. Gen. Kasirye Ggwanga, has officially taken a step into politics. He has submitted his application to the National Unity Platform (NUP), seeking the party’s flag to run for Member of Parliament representing Busujju County.
This move has caught the attention of many, especially those who remember the strong legacy of his father the outspoken and respected military officer who served Uganda with passion and honesty. Now, Garvin is looking to follow in his father’s footsteps, not in the army, but in Parliament.
In his application, Garvin showed clear interest in representing the people of Busujju under the NUP, Uganda’s leading opposition party. His decision to run under NUP suggests that he wants to be a voice for change and stand with the people, especially the youth and communities in his home area.
