There is growing concern in Uganda after reports that Member of Parliament Barnabas Tinkasimire has been allegedly abducted. According to his wife, the MP was taken by unknown gunmen near Rubis Fuel Station, which is located opposite Kampala Hill, around 6 PM on Saturday evening.
She says that the men who took her husband were armed and quickly disappeared with him. Since then, all of Tinkasimire’s phones have been switched off, and his family has not been able to reach him. The incident has left both his family and the public shocked and worried about his safety.
The family has reported the matter to Wandegeya Police Station, but they say they are facing challenges getting help. According to his wife, their attempts to view the CCTV footage from the fuel station where the incident happened have been blocked. She says they have not been given access to the video, which could help find out what really happened and where the MP was taken.
This disturbing incident has raised serious questions about security in the country, especially for public leaders. Many are now calling on the police and government to urgently investigate the situation and ensure that Tinkasimire is found safe and sound.
As investigations continue, the nation watches and waits for answers. The whereabouts of MP Tinkasimire remain unknown, and his family is pleading for support and transparency in the search for their loved one.
