The conflict in the Middle East has grown more dangerous after Iran launched missiles toward a US military base in Qatar. The attack was in retaliation for American airstrikes earlier in the week. According to Iranian state media, the operation was called “Blessings of Victory” and targeted US sites in Qatar, mainly the Al Udeid Air Base.
However, US officials confirmed that no missiles actually struck the base. The Pentagon and White House are closely monitoring the situation, prepared for any further action from Iran.
The missile launch came while former President Donald Trump was holding a meeting with his top national security advisors. It’s the latest development in a fast-moving and dangerous crisis involving Iran, Israel, and now the United States.
Over the past 10 days, Iran and Israel have been exchanging missile and drone strikes. This ongoing fight has already caused injuries and fear across the region. One British citizen was recently hurt in Israel during an Iranian attack, according to UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy. He warned that the region is now facing “a perilous moment.”
Meanwhile, Israel has carried out its own major strikes deep inside Iran. Targets included the entrance of Evin Prison—known for holding political opponents—and the headquarters of the Basij, a powerful paramilitary group tied to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps. This group has been labeled a terrorist organization by the US. Reports say hundreds of elite Iranian soldiers may have been killed in the Israeli attacks.
As military actions continue to grow, the risk of a wider war becomes more serious. The world is watching closely as three powerful nations edge closer to a full-scale conflict. Calls for peace are growing, but so far, the missiles keep flying.
