NRM Delegates From Kotido & Abim Districts Endrose Mr Calvin Echodu For NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Uganda

Mr. Calvin Echodu’s bid for NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Region continues to gain ground, with a strong turnout and enthusiastic reception during a consultative meeting held yesterday afternoon in Kotido District. Delegates from both Kotido and Abim districts convened at Caritas Hall, Kotido to engage with the aspiring CEC member, as part of his ongoing grassroots mobilization across Karamoja sub-region.

The meeting was characterized by open discussions, renewed party spirit, and a reaffirmation of loyalty to the NRM leadership under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Chairman of the party. Delegates pledged their continued support for the National Chairman’s vision and legacy, emphasizing the importance of electing leaders who align with the broader goals of peace, stability, and economic transformation.

In his address, Mr. Echodu emphasized his commitment to the ideals of the NRM and to strengthening party structures at the grassroots. He thanked the people of Kotido and Abim for their hospitality and praised the region’s resilience and rich cultural heritage.

“I am here to listen, to learn, and to walk with you on this journey,” Echodu said. “Leadership at the National level requires leaders who can bridge generations, understand the issues on the ground, and support the National Chairman with energy and credibility. My loyalty to the party and to the National Chairman’s agenda is unwavering”, he said.

Delegates expressed appreciation for Echodu’s humility and practical vision, noting that his leadership style reflects the needs of the people, especially the youth and women who remain at the heart of development efforts.

Abim district Chairperson, Mr. Engorok Obin noted, “We need leaders who don’t just show up during elections, but who understand our realities and advocate for lasting solutions. Calvin speaks our language. He has shown that he values unity and continuity within the party. We are in full support of his his bid for CEC.”

The meeting ended with a collective endorsement of Echodu’s candidacy by delegates from both districts, and a call for continued support toward strengthening the NRM at all levels. Participants also reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s core principles and to upholding the legacy of President Museveni.

As Mr. Echodu’s tour moves further across the country , his message of unity, grounded leadership, and loyalty to the National Chairman is resonating with communities eager for meaningful representation and progress.
