Calvin Echodu, who is vying for NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Region, has this Saturday afternoon, successfully wrapped up his tour of the Karamoja sub-region, drawing strong endorsements from party delegates and opinion leaders.

The tour, which spanned key districts including Nakapiripirit, Napak, Moroto, Nabilatuk, Amudat Districts and Moroto Municipality, was part of the Echodu’s strategic outreach ahead of the upcoming internal party elections. During his visit, the Echodu held consultative meetings with party delegates, youth leaders, and community mobilizers, presenting his vision for a more inclusive and responsive party leadership.
In a show of unity and support, delegates from all delegates unanimously endorsed the Echodu’s bid for CEC, citing his commitment to grassroots engagement and his long-standing service to the party.

“We believe in his leadership and his ability to represent the unique concerns of our region at the national level,” said one delegate from Napak. “He has shown that he listens, understands our challenges, and is willing to act.”

Echodu, visibly energized by the warm reception, thanked the people of southern Karamoja for their trust and pledged to champion development and inclusion within the party structures. He emphasized the need to strengthen party cohesion and amplify voices from often marginalized regions.

“Karamoja is not just a frontier region, it is the heartbeat of Uganda’s resilience and potential. I am honored by your support and I will not let you down,” he told a cheering crowd in Moroto Municipality.

As the race for CEC intensifies, the endorsements from Karamoja are expected to bolster the Echodu’s momentum and widen his national appeal.

His next stop is expected to be in the Teso sub-region, where anticipation is already building among party faithful.
