NUP Under Attack, But the Struggle Continues, A Message of Hope from Joel Ssenyonyi

Must read

Joel Ssenyonyi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Uganda’s Parliament, has called on all Ugandans who believe in change to remain focused and determined. Speaking with passion and clarity, Ssenyonyi reminded citizens not to be distracted by people or groups trying to weaken the struggle for a better Uganda.

“There are many attacks on the National Unity Platform (NUP),” he said. “Not just from the ruling party, NRM, which we are challenging, but also from other small groups who seem to have made it their mission to bring down NUP.” He expressed concern that some of these groups, instead of fighting for change, are focusing their energy on discrediting NUP and its members.

Ssenyonyi’s message is clear: the goal is bigger than any one individual or party. He urged all those who want a better Uganda to ignore the noise and focus on the bigger picture freedom, justice, and leadership that truly serves the people. “Let us not be dissuaded. Let us not be diverted by these small groups. Keep your eyes on the prize,” he said firmly.

This powerful reminder comes at a time when tensions are rising and internal divisions are threatening the unity of the opposition. Ssenyonyi believes that such distractions only help the current regime remain in power longer. He encouraged unity, discipline, and patience as the struggle continues.

As the NUP slogan goes: People Power, Our Power! a reminder that the strength of the people is greater than any force that tries to stop them. Joel Ssenyonyi’s words are a timely call to all Ugandans who want change stay strong, stay focused, and keep moving forward.
