Trending!! Wine Responds to Regime’s Accusations Against German Ambassador

Must read

This Wednesday, a meeting was held in Gulu between the European Union (EU) Delegation and General Salim Saleh, brother to President Yoweri Museveni. During the discussion, the German Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Matthias Schauer, along with other EU diplomats, raised concerns about threatening posts made on social media by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba—President Museveni’s son and a senior military officer.

The diplomats were especially alarmed by the fact that Muhoozi’s online threats often lead to real-world actions, contributing to an atmosphere of fear and oppression. Their concerns followed an earlier incident where Muhoozi issued threats against EU Ambassadors after they visited the headquarters of Uganda’s opposition party, the National Unity Platform (NUP), to discuss the growing human rights crisis in the country.

Just a few hours after the Gulu meeting, the Ugandan regime responded by launching shocking accusations against Ambassador Schauer, claiming that he was sponsoring unknown rebel groups to overthrow the government. Even more outrageous, they alleged that these so-called rebels are mostly supporters of Bobi Wine and the NUP.

In a powerful response, Bobi Wine, the NUP leader and strong opposition voice, condemned the regime’s accusations as false and dangerous. He called the move a clear attempt to deflect attention from the real issues—rampant corruption, abuse of power, and human rights violations. According to Bobi Wine, this is a familiar strategy used by the Museveni regime: inventing threats to justify violence and escape accountability.

Bobi Wine pointed out that the regime has a long history of accusing political opponents and activists of being criminals or rebels. This narrative is often used to legitimize the arrest, torture, and disappearance of NUP supporters and other critics of the government. He urged the international community not to fall for these tactics and to continue demanding justice for Ugandans.

Despite the danger, Bobi Wine assured supporters that the people of Uganda will not be silenced. He emphasized that the struggle against dictatorship and for a free Uganda will continue through peaceful and lawful means. He called on the world to recognize the regime’s dirty playbook and to stand in solidarity with those fighting for democracy and human rights.

His message was clear: no amount of fear or fabricated lies will stop the people of Uganda from seeking truth, justice, and freedom.
