The Police in Greater Masaka have made a breakthrough in the kidnapping case of a 7-year-old pupil from Dimo landing site in Masaka District.
Twelve suspects have been arrested in connection with the kidnapping, which occurred on March 21, 2025, at around 7:00 am.
It is alleged the victim was abducted by two men on a red Bajaja Boxer motorcycle while on their way to school.
The kidnappers later contacted the victim’s family, demanding a ransom of UGX 200,000, which was promptly paid. However, there was no further communication from the kidnappers.
A rescue operation was conducted by the Police at 1700hrs today, saving the kidnapped child. The child was dropped off at GAZ petrol station in Kalisizo district by the kidnappers, who were tricked into doing so in exchange for a ransom of 5 million.
The kidnappers had arranged for the child to be taken to the mother in a tax however police managed to apprehend them suspects in the process.

Lutaya Nelson a Motorcycle rider Maria Gorrete Nambajjo*: Accomplice Namugamba Prossy, a sister to the prime suspect Namukwaya Rosemary, a mother to the prime suspect Serugo Matia, Brother to the prime suspect Kasumba Yuda, Father to the prime suspect Sikyomu Tonny, friend to the prime suspect Yawe Robert, Friend to the prime suspect Kiwendo Paul, Accomplice Hussein Muhammad Accomplice Masereka Dennis Taxi driver Wamala Emma is a Taxi conductor
The prime suspect, Tusibira Pius, remains at large, and we call upon anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to share it confidence with police.
