The Commander for Kampala Metropolitan Police ACP Emitu Ezekiel has responded back to the allegations of a female police officer Fatina Mukolerwa who was arrested after she went to the social media and claiming that her bosses never helped her when she was allegedly beaten by a female Arinaitwe Sylvia suspect during the arrest, Spyreports can exclusively report.
During an exclusive telephone interview with the KMP boss, he says the incident occurred on Friday evening. “It was on Friday around 8:00pm when I got a call from the PA to IGP saying that there was a mother of two young children who was in custody at Kasangati police station and I was not aware of her arrest and I said let me inquire.
“I called the DPC about the arrest of Arinaitwe Sylvia and the DPC was also not aware and I ordered to go and find out and later brief me,” Says the Police boss adding that the DPC found out that the woman was indeed in the Custody.
He added that the DPC asked the Investigating officer of the file and was told it was Mukolerwa. Emitu Ezekiel further says when they asked the cause of the arrest, Mukolerwa said it was a domestic issue. “The Man who is a soldier has been having domestic issues with his wife for a long time almost 5 years back. The Man wanted to sell off their Marital home but the wife rejected the ideal and that was the cause of their domestic issues,” Says Emitu. He added that recently the man got in touch with police office Mukolerwa and planned how to arrest the woman and the man sells off the house.
He adds that the man had also brought the buyers who had inspected the house and were ready to pay the money while the wife would be in detention. “When I was briefed about the whole story and having a police officer involved, I ordered for the release of the suspect immediately,” Says Emitu adding that I even ordered the DPC to escort the woman upto her home. “when the woman reached home, she found her two children lying on the velander as the man had rocked the house pending to receive the money. “When the deal floated,our officer resorted to social media claiming she was never helped,”he revealed adding any arrest to be conducted the DPC or OC Station must be in the know but in this arrest they were not informed.
“Any officer who uses social media accusing the institution or his or her bosses, commits the office and he or she must be charged accordingly,” he says adding that there are very many ways how an officer can show his or her dissatisfaction without resorting to social media. “Police has PSU, there is office of IGP which is always open to receive and handle complaints from officers,” he says adding that indiscipline in the force is not allowed.
