The Permanent Ssecretary and Secretary to Treasury Hon Ramanthan Ggoobi accompanied by his technical team today visited Atiak Sugar factory in Amuru district to assess the progress of this transformative investment in Northern Uganda.
The PSST in his remarks applauded the factory for embracing modern farming practices including mechanisation,irrigation and use of fertilizers. He assured management of Atiak sugar factory that Government will continue to support them to complete the investment phase of the sugar factory so that they can go into production.
” You should focus on results and delivering value for money,” PSST Ggoobi told Atiak Sugar CEO, Amina Hersi.
Atiak sugar factory with 30,000 acres of land is a strategic and model private sector led impact investment that promises to speed up agro-Industrialisation and agro-tourism in Northern Uganda.
The factory is well positioned to contribute to the share of Uganda’s manufactured exports under the tenfold growth strategy.
