Edward Ssebuufu, popularly known as Eddie Mutwe, has been in prison for some time now. He is not just any ordinary person he is the head of personal security for Robert Kyagulanyi, who many people know as Bobi Wine, a top opposition leader in Uganda. Eddie Mutwe is currently sick, and his health condition is getting worse.
Because of this, his lawyers are working hard to get him out of prison. They want to apply for bail, which means asking the court to let Eddie go free while he waits for his case to be heard. Bail can be given when someone is seriously ill or when the court believes they will not run away or cause trouble.
The lawyers, led by George Musisi, say Eddie Mutwe should not be in jail at all. They believe the charges against him are unfair and not based on real evidence. So, they are not only asking for bail but are also planning to take the case to the High Court. They hope the High Court will see the truth and cancel all the charges against him.
George Musisi said they are preparing all the legal papers and will soon go to court. He added that Eddie’s health is worrying, and he needs better treatment than what he is getting in prison.
Many people who support Bobi Wine and his political movement are following this case closely. They believe Eddie Mutwe is being punished for his political work and not for breaking any laws.
As the legal team continues to fight for his freedom, Eddie Mutwe remains in prison, waiting and hoping for a chance to go home and get better.
