A 10-year-old boy, Mukwaya Kamada, has gone missing in the Nsangi area of Wakiso District, leaving his family heartbroken and the police on high alert. The young boy, a pupil at Ryan Nursery and Primary School in Bukomye Cell, Maya, Kyengera Town Council, was last seen on the 25th of June 2025.
According to reports filed by his father, Mukwaya Abdul Semadu, a 40-year-old mechanic and resident of Bukomye Cell, Kamada disappeared under unusual circumstances. On that day, his stepmother, Namakula Hafuswa, asked him to go to a nearby shop to buy Lustic (a type of thread) and gave him UGX 1,000. He returned home after the purchase, saying he had spent UGX 500. When questioned about the remaining money, he left again, saying he was going back to look for the UGX 500 balance. Unfortunately, Kamada never returned.
The child had been living with his father and stepmother following the separation of his biological parents. His sudden disappearance has deeply concerned both the family and the local community. Despite immediate efforts by the family and the local police to search for him, Kamada’s whereabouts remain unknown.
The Territorial Police in Nsangi have launched a full investigation into the case. Authorities are treating the matter seriously and are working around the clock to find the boy. In the meantime, the police are calling on the public to assist in locating him. Anyone with information is urged to report to the nearest police station or contact Nsangi Police Division directly on +256 784 985207.
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer of Kampala Metropolitan Police, emphasized the urgency of the situation and the importance of community support in finding Kamada. As the search continues, hope remains that someone, somewhere, has information that can bring him home safely.
