Kampala Metropolitan Police has arrested three suspects in connection with a housebreaking and theft case reported in Nsumbi Zone, Kyebando Parish, Wakiso District.The incident was reported on September 8, 2026, after unknown individuals allegedly broke into a residence in Nsumbi and made away with several valuables. The stolen property included clothes, shoes and a 43-inch Global Star television set valued at approximately UGX 760,000.Following the report, police immediately launched investigations to identify those behind the break-in.
A police canine was deployed to help investigators trace the suspects and establish their movements after the alleged crime.The operation led to the arrest of three suspects identified as Lubega Rayan, Ssembusi Musa and Katamba Faizo. Police later conducted a search as part of the investigation, leading to the recovery of several items believed to be relevant to the case.Among the recovered items were a pair of desert police shoes, a cape resembling UPDF attire and a bag. Police have secured the items and will subject them to identification and further examination as investigations continue.Police have also established that one of the suspects had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence in connection with a robbery case.
Investigators are now working to establish whether this suspect and the other two arrested individuals were involved in the Nsumbi housebreaking incident.The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue. According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspects will be taken to court upon completion of investigations.Police have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities that could help prevent housebreaking, theft and other crimes in their communities.
