Prof Kateregga’s Wife Exposes Husband’s Lies Against Police

Must read

Mrs. Jolly Shubaiha Kateregga, the wife of Kampala University founder Prof. Badru Kateregga, has spoken out and denied all the accusations made against her. She has also defended the police, saying they have done their job fairly and professionally.

Prof. Kateregga recently claimed that his ex-wife locked him out of their home in Buziga, stole cars, land titles, university documents, and money, and then ran away to Rwanda. He also accused the police of siding with her in the ongoing conflict.

However, Jolly says all of that is false. She explained that the cars, documents, and land titles that Prof. Kateregga claimed were stolen are still safely at home. “Nothing was taken. Everything is where it has always been,” she said.

Jolly also said that Prof. Kateregga left the house by himself in September 2024 and never came back. “I never chased him away. He left on his own,” she added.

On the issue of police involvement, Jolly said Prof. Kateregga is lying. She explained that the police carried out proper investigations and found no proof to support his claims. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) also looked into the matter and closed the case due to lack of evidence.

“These institutions are doing their work professionally,” Jolly said. “The police are not taking sides. They are only doing what the law requires.”

She also shared that she and her children have been living in fear after receiving threatening phone calls and being followed by unknown people. To protect her family, she hired private security. “I am not trying to fight anyone. I just want to protect my children and what is rightfully ours,” she said.

Jolly added that some of the property in question belongs to both of them, and that she has never tried to steal anything. Her goal has always been to defend her family’s rights.

She also accused Prof. Kateregga of trying to illegally remove her from company documents related to their businesses, calling it forgery. She confirmed that the case is now under police investigation.

In her final message, Jolly asked the public and the media to stop spreading false stories. “This is a personal issue, not something to be judged in the media. Let the courts handle it,” she said.

Jolly’s side of the story has exposed major gaps in Prof. Kateregga’s claims—especially the false accusation that police are helping her. According to her, the law is simply being followed, and no one should use their power to attack justice.
