Must read

A high-profile pass-out ceremony has taken place today at the Police Senior Command and Staff College in Bwebajja, drawing several top security officials from across the country. Among those in attendance were the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Abas Byakagaba, and the Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Johnson Byabashijja. Their presence highlights the importance of the event in Uganda’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its internal security leadership.

The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 41 senior police officers who have completed an intensive one-year course focused on security, peacekeeping, and conflict resolution. The course aimed at sharpening the skills of high-ranking officers and preparing them to handle complex security challenges both within Uganda and beyond.

The event is expected to be presided over by Gen David Muhoozi, the Minister of State for Internal Affairs, adding even more weight to the occasion. His attendance signals strong government support for continued professional development within the police force.

These officers, now armed with deeper knowledge and strategic training, are seen as key players in shaping a more effective and community-friendly police service. The course covered a wide range of subjects, including leadership, regional security threats, crisis management, and peacebuilding strategies.

The presence of Uganda’s top security bosses reflects the trust and expectations placed on the graduating officers. It also shows the country’s commitment to building a more responsive and better-trained police force that can deal with modern security issues through knowledge-based and people-centered approaches.

This graduation marks a milestone not only for the officers but also for the institution, as it continues to produce well-prepared leaders ready to serve the nation with integrity and professionalism.
