Police is holding one of its own senior officer over allegations of shooting four people inside a bar after developing a quarrel. The arrested officer has been identified as SP Moses Muhindo the officer in charge (OC) Kwania Police station. According to our sources, SP Muhindo allegedly opened fire inside the bar after a quarrel with an unknown person. Our sources added that four people were hit by the bullets and sustained serious injuries.
The victims include Alani Lusano, 27, who was shot in the right thigh; Oguta Jasper, 31, who was hit on the right leg just below the knee; Opio Solomon, 24, shot in the right heel; and Obote Steven, 24, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds on his upper thigh, right leg, and left leg, breaking both legs. The victims are all residents of Kwania District, with professions ranging from peasants to carpenters and blockers.
The shooting sparked immediate action by the police. Ocan Tom Alfred, Acting District CID at Kwania CPS, led a team of homicide and SOCO officers to the scene. They examined, photographed, and documented the area, while statements were recorded from the victims. The injured were rushed to Aduku HC IV and Lira Referral Hospital for treatment.
SP Muhindo Moses, the suspect, was arrested and taken in for interrogation. Authorities also recovered a pistol with the serial number UG POL 15-CN 022923 51648. The weapon still had four bullets in the magazine and one in the chamber.
This terrifying event has left residents of Aduku and the wider Kwania District in shock. Witnesses describe a scene of panic and fear as bullets flew inside a busy night club, injuring innocent civilians. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the full circumstances of the shooting.
Police have opened a case of attempted murder under Kwania CRB 319/2025. The inquiries are continuing, and updates are expected as the investigation progresses. Residents are urging law enforcement to act swiftly and ensure justice for the victims.
