Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced that he will not post on Twitter for the next seven days in honour of the Muchwezi Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Rukidi IV.
In a message shared on his X account, Muhoozi said the decision was made as a sign of respect for the Tooro King, using the phrase “Muraregye,” which conveys a message of farewell or goodbye.
“In honour of the Muchwezi Rukirabasaija Omukama Oyo Rukidi IV. I will not tweet again for 7 days. Muraregye,” Muhoozi wrote.
The announcement means his followers will not see his usual posts and updates on the platform for the coming week. Gen Muhoozi is known for his frequent activity on X, where he regularly comments on national issues, politics, security and other matters.
His decision to temporarily stay away from the platform is being presented as a gesture of honour and respect for Omukama Oyo Rukidi IV.
The seven-day silence will mark a brief break from Muhoozi’s often active presence on social media, with his return expected after the period he has announced.
