Must read

The Uganda Police Force has launched a major housing project to improve the welfare of its officers and their families. The Logistics and Engineering Directorate, led by AIGP James Apora, is overseeing the construction of 1,200 modern housing units at Naguru Police Barracks in Kampala.

This initiative is part of the police force’s commitment to ensure that officers have decent and safe living conditions. The new housing units are expected to provide comfortable accommodation for police personnel, making it easier for them to focus on their duties while ensuring their families are well cared for.

According to the police leadership, the housing project will not only improve living standards but also boost morale among officers. Providing modern, well-planned homes is seen as a key step in retaining experienced personnel and attracting new recruits to the force.

The construction work at Naguru Barracks is being closely supervised by the Logistics and Engineering Directorate to ensure high-quality standards and timely completion. Authorities have emphasized that the project reflects the government’s broader commitment to supporting security agencies and their staff.

Once completed, the Naguru housing project will serve as a model for similar developments in other police barracks across Uganda. It is expected to strengthen the welfare of police families while enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Uganda Police Force.
