Police Reveal Shocking Details In The Death Of UCU Director Student’s Affairs

Must read

Police have launched investigations into the shocking murder of Pamela Tumwebaze, the Director of Students’ Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono, who was killed by strangulation at her home in Ganvu West Cell, Seeta Ward, Goma Division, Mukono District.

According to police reports registered under Mukono CRB 195/2026, the incident was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday, 11th February 2026. At around 5:00am, police received information from a reliable source indicating that the 46-year-old education administrator had been murdered during the night by unknown assailants.

Preliminary findings indicate that the attack happened at around 2:00am when an unknown person unlawfully gained entry into her house and strangled her. After the assault, the victim was rushed to Mukono Namirembe Hospital in a critical condition, where doctors later pronounced her dead.

A team of police officers led by ASP Alituha, the Officer in Charge of Mukono Police Station, together with Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO), immediately visited the home. The scene was carefully examined, documented, and key observations were recorded to support ongoing investigations.

Police established that at the time of her death, the deceased was living with her two children, Elijah and Noah, aged between 10 and 13 years, as well as a housemaid identified as Lwantale Sharif, a 20-year-old Muganda. On the night of the incident, the deceased reportedly returned home at about 10:00pm with her children, and the housemaid opened the gate and the main door before locking up.

Investigators suspect that the attacker may have entered the house at the same time the housemaid opened the gate for the family, possibly taking advantage of the moment to sneak in unnoticed. After committing the crime, the assailant reportedly threatened or ordered the housemaid to hand over the keys to the main door, which she did.

The suspect then fled the scene carrying a laptop bag containing items yet to be fully identified. Police also noted that the deceased’s mobile phone, with number 0782409072, was missing from the house, raising suspicions of robbery linked to the murder.

By press time, the body of the deceased was still at Mukono Namirembe Hospital, awaiting transfer to Mulago Mortuary for a postmortem examination to establish more details surrounding the cause of death.

Police say investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the suspect as the murder of a senior university official has sent shockwaves through the academic community and the wider public.
