The Uganda Prisons Service has announced a cash reward of UGX 10 million for anyone who provides credible information that will lead to the arrest of a prison warder accused of involvement in a deadly shooting incident in Kiboga District.

According to an official press release issued on March 9, 2026, authorities are searching for Warder No. 13544, Anguyo Moses, who is described as the prime suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred at Uganda Government Prison Kiboga. The incident reportedly left four people dead, sending shockwaves through the local community and raising serious concerns about security within the prison facility.

Officials from the prisons service say the suspect fled after the shooting and has since remained at large despite ongoing efforts by security agencies to track him down. Investigators believe that members of the public may have information that could help authorities locate and arrest the suspect.

To encourage cooperation from the public, the Commissioner General of the Uganda Prisons Service has placed a bounty of UGX 10,000,000 on the suspect. The reward will be given to anyone who provides reliable information leading to the successful arrest of Anguyo Moses.

The prisons authority has emphasized that all information provided by members of the public will be handled with strict confidentiality to protect informants. Officials are urging anyone with knowledge about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward and assist law enforcement agencies in ensuring justice for the victims of the shooting.

Members of the public can report any information by calling the toll-free numbers 999 or 0800144144, or by visiting the nearest police station. Authorities believe that community cooperation will play a crucial role in apprehending the suspect and restoring calm following the tragic incident.

Speaking on behalf of the prisons service, spokesperson Frank Baine Mayanja, who serves as the Senior Commissioner of Prisons in charge of Cooperation and Corporate Affairs, confirmed the development and appealed to citizens to support security agencies by sharing any information that could help bring the suspect to justice.

Security agencies have assured the public that investigations into the Kiboga prison shooting are ongoing and that efforts are being intensified to locate the fugitive warder as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, residents have been urged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious individuals believed to be linked to the case.
