Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced new changes in the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), revealing additional appointments to the organisation’s Central Committee. The announcement was made through his post on X, where he listed several new members joining the top decision-making body of the movement.
According to the statement, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze has been appointed as one of the new members of the Central Committee. He joins the leadership structure at a time when PLU is expanding its internal coordination and strengthening its governance framework.
Also appointed is Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka, who brings legal and governmental experience to the committee. His inclusion is expected to support policy direction and legal guidance within the organisation’s leadership discussions.
The list further includes Mr. Hussein Kashillingi and Mr. Alan Kasujja. Their appointments reflect a mix of political, legal, media, and civil participation within the PLU Central Committee, showing a broader representation of different professional backgrounds.
Gen Muhoozi’s announcement highlights an ongoing effort to strengthen the structure of the Patriotic League of Uganda by bringing in experienced individuals from different sectors. The inclusion of both government officials and professionals suggests a strategy aimed at widening the organisation’s influence and improving coordination at the top level.
The new appointments come as PLU continues to develop its leadership framework, with recent changes including the appointment of Hon. Fadil Twalla as General Secretary and the retention of Hon. Daudi Kabanda in the Central Committee. Together, these changes point to a period of restructuring and expansion within the organisation.
Overall, the latest move signals a growing and more diverse leadership team within PLU, as Gen Muhoozi continues to shape the direction and composition of its central governing body.
