The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) has officially announced the opening of bids for the provision of online media services under a three-year framework contract. This exciting opportunity is part of UBOS’s effort to enhance its media outreach and communication strategies. The bidding process is open to all eligible bidders and will be conducted according to the guidelines set forth in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003.
Interested bidders can obtain further details and access the official bidding documents at the UBOS office, located at the address provided in the notice. Bidding documents are available for purchase in English, and those who wish to participate must submit a written application, along with a non-refundable fee of UGX 100,000. The payment can be made through a bank transaction using a BAF, which is available on the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) website.
The deadline for submitting bids is set for 11:00 AM on May 11, 2026. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 4,000,000 in the form of a bank guarantee. Late submissions will not be accepted, so interested bidders are encouraged to prepare and submit their proposals well in advance. On the same day, at 11:20 AM, there will be a public opening of the bids at the designated UBOS address, allowing bidders who wish to attend to witness the process.
In addition to submitting bids, all interested parties must attend a pre-bid meeting scheduled for April 28, 2026, at Statistics House. This meeting will provide valuable insights and an opportunity for potential bidders to ask questions and clarify any doubts. The procurement process is scheduled to proceed swiftly, with evaluation taking place from May 12-13, 2026. UBOS plans to announce the best-evaluated bidder between May 15-27, 2026, and finalize the contract signing by June 1, 2026, provided the Solicitor General grants clearance.
This bidding process presents a great chance for businesses in the media industry to engage with a key government entity and contribute to the country’s development efforts. With clear timelines and transparent procedures, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics is making it easier for interested bidders to participate and be part of this important initiative.
