Emotional Scene as Helen Nakimuli’s Casket Arrives at Parliament for Final Honors

The body of Hellen Nakimuli, former Kalangala District Woman MP, has arrived at Parliament to lie in state as the nation pays its last respects to the late legislator. Her casket was brought in a cortege that slowly entered the parliamentary premises amid a solemn atmosphere.

Members of Parliament, led by Speaker Anita Annet Among, received the casket at the South Parking Lot of Parliament. The Speaker and other leaders stood in silence as the remains of the former MP were officially received, marking the beginning of the final honors accorded to her by the state.

The late Nakimuli, who served as the Kalangala District Woman MP, is being remembered for her role in representing her constituents in Parliament. Her body lying in state at Parliament allows leaders, colleagues, and members of the public to pay their respects and reflect on her service.

Parliament is expected to host various leaders and mourners who will file past the casket as part of the official farewell ceremony. Security and protocol arrangements have been put in place to ensure a smooth and dignified process throughout the period her body remains at Parliament.
