Dear Honourable Members of Parliament, Public Officials, and Fellow Ugandans,
As we stand on the threshold of the historic swearing-in of the 12th Parliament for the term 2026 to 2031,
I, Hon. Princess Persis Namuganza, Bukono County MP-elect, rise with a deep sense of duty and patriotism to issue this solemn reminder.
The time has come for every Member of Parliament, every public official, and every Ugandan at large to unite firmly and decisively in the uncompromising fight against corruption most especially within the Parliament of Uganda.
Parliament cannot credibly oversee other institutions if it is itself tainted by this vice. We owe it to the people, to the legacy of our liberation struggle, and to His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa to begin this new term on a foundation of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
I have consistently stood against corruption in Parliament even when others chose silence or complicity. Today, I call upon all of you without exception to join this national crusade. Let us support the President’s clear directive and ensure that the 12th Parliament becomes a House defined by discipline, honesty, and service to the nation.
Let the upcoming swearing-in not be a mere ceremony, but a sacred commitment by every one of us to restore the dignity of our Parliament and our beloved motherland.
Together, hand in hand, we shall defeat corruption and build the Uganda our children and future generations deserve.
God bless Uganda. God bless the 12th Parliament.
With unwavering resolve and patriotism,
Hon. Princess Persis Namuganza
Bukono County MP-elect & Aspirant for Speaker of the 12th Parliament
