Katusiime Jane Flees Country Amid Safety Fears Over Alleged Persecution

Must read

Katusiime Jane has reportedly left the country after what sources describe as growing fears for her safety linked to allegations regarding her sexual orientation.

According to people familiar with the matter, Jane’s situation became increasingly difficult after rumours about her private life began circulating within her community. The allegations reportedly led to social stigma, isolation, and tension in both her personal and professional life.

Sources claim that the situation escalated further when her private life allegedly became widely known, resulting in fear of possible targeting and legal action. She is also said to have faced increasing pressure and insecurity, which made it difficult for her to continue living normally.

It is further reported that she began moving between different locations within Uganda, including Nansana, Mukono, Sheema, and Fort Portal, while trying to avoid being identified. During this period, she was reportedly in hiding and relying on close acquaintances for support.

According to sources, fears of arrest and possible harm linked to the allegations eventually forced her to flee the country in search of safety.

Jane has since reportedly left Uganda and is currently seeking protection abroad.

Authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the matter.
