NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong has announced that the council of the Inter Party Organisation for Dialogue (IPOD) has resolved to admit the National Unity Platform (NUP) and the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) into the organization.
According to Todwong, the decision was reached by the IPOD council as part of efforts to bring together all major political parties and strengthen dialogue on national issues. The move is expected to create a broader platform where political parties can discuss matters affecting the country and seek peaceful solutions through engagement.
The admission of NUP and ANT is seen as a significant development in Uganda’s political landscape. For years, IPOD has served as a forum where political parties interact, share views, and promote cooperation despite their political differences. The inclusion of the two parties could increase participation and make discussions within the organization more representative.
Political observers believe the decision may help improve communication among political actors and contribute to efforts aimed at promoting unity, mutual understanding, and democratic governance. More details regarding the admission process and the next steps are expected to be communicated by IPOD officials in the coming days.
