The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has released another list of Patriotic Officers (POs), adding more Ugandans to its growing network of members serving under the organisation.
The new list, released on behalf of PLU Chairman Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, contains names of individuals assigned official Patriotic Officer numbers ranging from PO100 to PO181. The appointments bring together people from different backgrounds, including political leaders, professionals, religious figures, business personalities, youth leaders and community activists.
In the announcement, PLU General Secretary Rt. Hon. Twalla Fadil congratulated the newly appointed officers and urged them to serve with commitment, discipline and loyalty to the organisation and Uganda.
“ We congratulate all the newly appointed Patriotic Officers and urge them to serve with diligence, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to PLU and our Motherland,” Twalla said.
Among those named in the latest list are Hon. Matia Kasaijja, Hon. Jackson Kafuuzi, Hon. Kibaaju Charity Kamuhanda, Hon. Patrick Musinguzi, Hon. Richard Elimu, Hon. Mastula Namatovu, Hon. Nabulo Aisha Lumolo and other leaders from across the country.
The list also includes professionals and prominent personalities such as Dr. Leo Asiimwe, Dr. Grace Rubare, Dr. Byarugaba James, Dr. Zziwa Shafik, Dr. Frank Nyakahuma, engineer Isaac Wani, engineer Raymond Kamugisha Akankwasa and former athlete Moses Kipsiro.
Religious and cultural leaders were also recognised, including Sheik Kasim Kamugisha, Owobusobozi Bisaka and Prince Ashirafuh Rweyeshere.
Other appointees include youth and community representatives such as Joan Komugisha, Sandra Chebet, Caroline Mworozi, Sylvia Kakyo, Nina Ankunda, Jackie Namuyonga and Kanatta Richard, who is associated with the Boda Boda Initiative.
The appointments reflect PLU’s continued efforts to build a wider network of patriotic officers who are expected to promote national values, service and commitment to the country.
The newly appointed officers will now join the existing group of Patriotic Officers and are expected to support PLU’s activities across different communities in Uganda.
The announcement concluded with the national motto: “For God and My Country.”
