The leadership of the Uganda Police Force has carried out a major reshuffle involving 21 senior officers, with some elevated to new responsibilities while others have been transferred to different duty stations.
The changes are part of efforts by the police leadership to strengthen its command structure and improve the delivery of security services across the country. The affected officers will take up new assignments in different areas and are expected to bring their experience to their new roles.
Some of the officers have been given higher responsibilities, marking a significant step in their careers within the police force. Their new positions will require them to provide stronger leadership, supervise police operations and ensure that officers under their command effectively carry out their duties.
Other officers have been moved to different duty stations as part of the reshuffle. Such transfers are intended to expose officers to new responsibilities and areas while also allowing the police leadership to bring fresh leadership to different units and stations.
The senior officers will be expected to work closely with their teams, local leaders and members of the public to address security concerns in their respective areas. They will also play a key role in maintaining law and order and responding to emerging security challenges.
The reshuffle comes as the Uganda Police Force continues to reorganise its leadership and deployment structures in an effort to improve efficiency and public service.
The 21 officers are now expected to report to their new assignments and begin carrying out the responsibilities attached to their respective positions.
