Sudhir Ruparelia, Gilbert Bukenya Among 118 Awarded Patriotic Officer Numbers

The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has awarded Patriotic Officer (PO) numbers to a new group of members, with the latest appointments taking the PLU numbering system up to PO/300.

The new appointments bring together politicians, professionals, businesspeople, religious leaders and other prominent Ugandans who have been recognised under the PLU structure.

Among those receiving new Patriotic Officer numbers are former Vice President Dr Gilbert Bukenya, who was awarded PO/300, and businessman Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, who received PO/198. Other notable names include former State Minister for Works and Transport Musa Ecweru, Minister Amos Lugoloobi, Minister Sarah Nakawuki and Dr Keefa Kiwanuka.

The list also includes several other political leaders and public figures from different parts of the country. They include Peninah Busingye, Yorke Odria Alioni, John Bosco Kariisa, Molly Kamukama, Lillian Ruteraho, Dedan Musinguzi and Ruth Rujoki Mushabe.

Other newly appointed Patriotic Officers include Wilson Kajwengye, Catherine Lamwaka, Gerald Nangoli, Richard Wanda, Patrick Godfrey Wakida, Faith Mercy Lakisa, James Mamawi, Rose Obiga, Norman Ocero and Antony Akol.

The appointments continue with professionals, businesspeople and community figures such as Salim Uhuru, Doreen Izaagira, Janet Kiconco, Thomas Ainebyona, Gilbert Tuhaire, Edgar Arinda, Dan Nimwesiga, Didas Tabaro, Bonny Tashobya and Wycliffe Twesigye.

The new list also features religious and community figures, including Prophet Vincent Museveni, as well as people associated with different sectors and communities across Uganda. The officers have been assigned numbers ranging from PO/183 to PO/300.

PLU General Secretary Twalla Fadil congratulated all the newly appointed Patriotic Officers and called upon them to take their responsibilities seriously. He urged them to serve with diligence, loyalty and unwavering commitment to the organisation and Uganda.

The latest appointments bring the total number represented in the PLU Patriotic Officer numbering system to 300, marking another significant expansion of the organisation’s network.
