Police in Ibanda district are investigating the matter in which residents descended on a police officer No 75290 PC Chemonges Suleiman 28 years old attached to Bisheshe police station was killed.
It’s alleged that on 6/4/2025 pc Chemonges Suleiman was deployed to guard at the funeral of kahangire Lazarus an inmate who died from Nyabuhikye government prison and was remanded on a case of attempted murder vide IBD CRB 849/2023 which originated from al and case between the family of one Mbabazi Vincent and his brothers.
Chemonges reached immediately before his colleague and he was attacked and murdered by the mob relatives of kahangire who claims police was the one who killed there person while in prison.
A case of murder was registered at Ibanda central police station and an smg riffle no ug pol 563619069 was recovered from the scene with 16 rounds.
