Mr. Calvin Echodu’s bid for NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda continues to gain momentum as delegates from Rukungiri District and Rukungiri Municipality formally endorsed him during a spirited and engaging meeting with party leaders and members.
Describing the gathering as a “blessed day,” Mr. Echodu expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception and overwhelming support he received. In a particularly touching gesture, he was given the name Musinguzi—meaning “victor” or “one who brings victory” in the local language—symbolizing the people’s embrace of his leadership.
Throughout the meeting, delegates discussed key issues, shared their aspirations, and highlighted challenges facing the region and the NRM party. Mr. Echodu attentively listened and lauded their unwavering dedication to the party’s mission. He emphasized that their commitment and enthusiasm embody the spirit of the #NewEnergy campaign.
“I’m grateful that you turned up today,” he stated. “Our discussions were very insightful. Your energy, beliefs, and your commitment to the Party reflect what #NewEnergy is all about.”
This endorsement from Rukungiri adds significant weight to Mr. Echodu’s growing national support base. With earlier endorsements from the Kigezi region and now Rukungiri, his message of unity, renewal, and transformative leadership is clearly resonating with NRM members across Uganda.
As he moves forward with his campaign, Mr. Echodu remains focused on building a more inclusive and dynamic NRM—one fueled by fresh ideas and the passionate engagement of members from every region. With unity and resolve, he believes the party is poised for even greater achievements.
