Shock in Kasangati as State Attorney Found Dead in Her Home

Must read

A cloud of shock and sorrow hangs over Kasangati Town Council after the sudden death of Ms. Fatumah Bbuye Nabiwemba, a 47-year-old State Attorney working at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). Ms. Nabiwemba was found dead in her home in Wampeewo on the evening of 10th July 2025.

According to a statement from Kampala Metropolitan Police, the tragic discovery was made around 8:36 p.m. and was reported by Mr. Hamuza Kabanda, a driver attached to the DPP headquarters. The late attorney had not been seen at work for nearly four days before her body was found. She lived alone, which made it harder for anyone to notice that something was wrong.

A team of detectives, led by the Division Police Commander, quickly responded to the scene. They conducted a thorough search of the residence and collected items believed to be important for the investigation. Police say these items could help uncover what may have led to her untimely death.

The body was transported to the City Mortuary where a postmortem will be carried out to determine the actual cause of death. At the moment, police are treating the case as a sudden death and have launched full investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding it.

The news has deeply saddened colleagues at the DPP’s office and shocked residents of Wampeewo, many of whom described Ms. Nabiwemba as a quiet and hardworking woman. Her sudden death raises many questions, especially as she was found alone after several days without contact.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that investigations are still ongoing. Authorities have promised to share more information as it becomes available.

As Uganda mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant, the public eagerly awaits answers to the mystery of what really happened behind the closed doors of Ms. Nabiwemba’s home.
