Manhunt in Kampala!! Police Pursue Don Chris Over 1.75 Billion Shillings Job Scam

Must read

Police in the Kampala Metropolitan area are deep into investigations involving a major fraud case that has left hundreds of Ugandans devastated. A travel company, Skypins Tours and Travel, is at the center of the scandal. The company, led by a man known as Asiimwe Christian, also called Don Chris, is accused of cheating more than 350 people out of their hard-earned money with false promises of jobs abroad.

What began as a complaint from 85 victims has now ballooned into a much larger case, with the number of victims rising to over 350. These individuals were each charged between 3.5 million and 10 million Ugandan shillings, with the promise that the company would help them secure work opportunities outside the country. However, the promised jobs never came, and the company’s offices have since gone silent.

The total amount of money lost by the victims is estimated at around 1.75 billion shillings. That’s a huge loss, especially for people who were desperately hoping to improve their lives and support their families by working abroad.

On June 17, 2025, police officially opened a general inquiry file and launched a manhunt for Don Chris. A search was carried out on July 10 at the company’s office in Kitende, but investigators found the place abandoned. However, they did manage to recover some important documents and other evidence that may help in the case.

Don Chris is now wanted for fraud, and the police are actively following leads to find and arrest him. They have urged all other victims who haven’t yet reported their cases to come forward and assist in the investigation. Authorities believe that with more people speaking out, they will be able to strengthen the case and bring justice to those who were scammed.

This case serves as a warning to the public to be cautious when dealing with companies that promise overseas jobs. It’s important to verify the legitimacy of such offers before handing over money. For now, the victims and their families are hoping that justice will be served and that those responsible will be held accountable.
