Must read

In a major show of support, leaders and delegates from Agago, Pader, Lamwo, Kitgum Municipality, and Kitgum District have fully endorsed Mr. Calvin Echodu for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda. The endorsement event took place at Little Palace Hilltop Hotel in Kitgum and was attended by NRM leaders, grassroots mobilizers, and regional influencers from across the East Acholi area.

This latest development adds significant momentum to Echodu’s growing popularity nationwide. Local leaders praised him for his inclusive leadership, reform-minded approach, and commitment to national unity. Many described him as a bridge-builder who can connect not just regions but people within the party.

In his speech, Echodu thanked the delegates for their trust and encouragement. “This endorsement is both humbling and energizing,” he said. Though he is seeking a regional position within the Central Executive Committee (CEC), Echodu made it clear that his goals go far beyond Eastern Uganda. “Eastern Uganda may be where I come from, but my loyalty is to Uganda’s collective progress,” he told the enthusiastic crowd.

Echodu laid out a bold and clear agenda for the future. He promised to strengthen grassroots participation in party affairs not just during election periods, but all year round. He spoke about empowering youth through SACCOs, ideological training, and involving them more actively in leadership. His plan also includes internal party reforms such as stronger conflict resolution systems and better communication within NRM structures.

“This campaign is not about me,” Echodu said firmly. “It’s about re-energizing the party and building a future-focused NRM that listens, includes, and delivers.”

He called on leaders across the country to unite behind all NRM flag bearers and to continue supporting the party’s National Chairman, H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, ahead of the coming elections.

With the Acholi sub-region now firmly behind him, Echodu’s support continues to grow across Uganda. His message of unity, reform, and youth empowerment is resonating with both party members and ordinary citizens. Many now see him as a leader who can help shape a stronger and more united NRM for the future.
