Mubende district is in shock following a gruesome murder that took place on Tuesday, 12th August 2025, at Nakigando East LC1, Kijumba Parish in Kiyuni Sub-County. The victim, identified as 16-year-old Nalubombwe Juliet, was found dead in her home after an unknown assailant reportedly broke in during the afternoon.
According to preliminary police reports, Juliet’s mother had left the house around 3:30 PM to visit her father-in-law, leaving the young girl alone. Soon after, heavy rain began to fall, and tragically, an intruder entered the home. The suspect reportedly attacked Juliet, fatally cutting her neck before fleeing the scene. The rain continued as the horrifying incident unfolded, leaving the house and surrounding area drenched.
Juliet’s mother returned later and discovered her daughter lying lifeless in a pool of blood. She immediately alerted the local police, who promptly dispatched a task team to the scene. Investigators have visited the crime scene, and Juliet’s body is currently at Mubende Regional Referral Hospital, awaiting a postmortem examination to determine the full cause of death.
Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala, from Pro Wamala, stated that investigations are ongoing and confirmed that their teams are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the murder to come forward to help bring justice for Juliet.
The tragic killing has left the Mubende community reeling, raising concerns about safety and the protection of children in the area. Residents are calling for swift action to ensure the perpetrator is held accountable and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
