President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who also doubles as Commander In Chief (CIC) of armed Forces has appointed Brig. Richard Karemire as the new Master of Ceremonies awards Chancelly.Brig Gen. Richard Karemire now serves as UPDF Joint Staff Formal Education Sports and Culture (JS FESC). This appointment was held by 4 **** Generals that included, Late Gen Elly Tumwine and Rtd Gen Ivan Koreta.
Inside sources from UPDF revealed to Spyreports that Gen Karemire earned the position after serious vetting that was separately conducted by CMI and SFC. “Several high ranking officers including Generals from UPDF wanted this position but the President insisted on Karemire,” Says a state House source adding that some Mafias had proposed other senior officers than Karemire.
“When the position attracted other names, President called for vetting and Karemire Emerged as the winner,” revealed another security source. Insiders say President Museveni has trusted and tested Gen Karemire in different responsibilities that includes UPDF spokes person where he excellently performed compared to others.
He was then taken to East African Community where he did well. Due to his trust he was recalled and appointed Joint Staff in charge of Education sports and culture in UPDF. Sources say Gen Karemire has promoted CDF sports Compition in UPDF.
“The CDF sports Compition has attracted civilian to join and compite with UPDF and all has been by Brig Karemire’s efforts,” Says a senior officers in UPDF adding that Karemire is tipped for bigger position in the UPDF soon.
