The crime, which took place on the afternoon of October 16, 2025, at around 2:00 PM, has left the community reeling. The suspect, who works at Mpumudde Health Center IV, allegedly lured the victim, a five-year-old girl into his home after gaining the trust of her mother. He had asked the victim’s mother, a canteen operator at the health center, to send Rihanna on an errand to his house. Little did she know that this innocent act would turn into a tragic violation of her daughter’s safety.
Rihanna’s mother, trusting the relationship between her and the suspect, agreed to send her daughter to run the errand. However, what followed was a betrayal of unimaginable proportions. Upon the victim’s arrival at Kazungu’s house, the suspect reportedly undressed the young girl and carried out a sexual assault on her. The violation took place in the suspect’s home, which was just a stone’s throw away from the health facility, making the event even more disturbing. Once the incident was reported, authorities acted swiftly. Kazungu was arrested on the same day, and charges for aggravated defilement were promptly filed against him.
