The Uganda police force has issued a strong warning to its officers who have started showing high level of Indescpline as the National heads to heated Presidential elections. The warning was issued by AIGP Bamuno Ubalido while addressing the Media at Police Headquarters in Naguru a posh Kampala Surburb. “We have learnt that some of our officers are beating,arresting civilians without committing any offense. This is unacceptable and we shall take action against those officers because they are not above the law,” he says calling upon the public to report those officers to their respective bosses. ” We have RPCs,DPCs, OC stations and other commanders so report those officers who are behaving with impunity and the law will get them,” he says. The police chief further pointed out that no criminal acts will be tororated during and after elections. “Report all incidents of disorder to police and we shall act immediately,” he added saying that police and other security agencies will maintain total peace during and after elections. He further said that heavy deployment of Military vehicles in Kampala is for everybody’s use. “When you see heavy deployment do not get scared instead be happy that your security is guaranteed,” he says. He however warned the public not to cause violence as they will be delt with accordingly. “The entire police force is out for deployment and whoever brings or tries to cause chaos will be delt with,” he Assures adding that those who will refuse to leave the polling stations after voting will be worked on by security officers.
