ACP Emitu Assumes Office with Clear Call to Action

ACP Emitu Ezekiel Ebapu has officially assumed office as the Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commander, taking over from CP Richard Ecega during a handover ceremony held at Central Police Station in Kampala. The event marked an important leadership transition within one of the country’s busiest and most sensitive policing areas.

The ceremony was presided over by AIGP @Mwesigwa_Frank1, the Director of Operations, who praised the outgoing Commander for his dedicated service and strong leadership throughout his time in office. He described Kampala Metropolitan Police as a highly demanding policing environment that requires constant vigilance, resilience, and wise decision-making. According to him, serving in such an area is not an easy task, and it calls for commitment and professionalism at all times.

AIGP Mwesigwa commended CP Ecega for carrying out his duties with discipline and focus. He thanked him for his service and encouraged him to use the experience gained in his next assignment. He urged him to continue serving with the same level of dedication and excellence in his new office.

Turning to the new Commander, AIGP Mwesigwa emphasized that leadership is not simply about occupying an office. He explained that command represents responsibility, authority, and accountability.
