The Uganda Police Force, together with sister security agencies, continues to conduct intelligence-led disruptive operations across the Kampala Metropolitan Policing Area to dismantle criminal networks and restore public safety.

On the night of March 2nd, 2026, between 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM, a series of joint operations were executed across various high-risk areas identified as hotspots for criminal activity. These operations targeted locations where suspected criminals were believed to be congregating to plan attacks, engage in the sale of narcotics, smoke opium, and ambush unsuspecting members of the public.

In Jinja Road Division, operations focused on areas like Naguru Go Down, Bank Village, and Naguru Village in Nakawa Division. The raids resulted in the arrest of 8 suspects. Meanwhile, in Mukono District, intelligence-led operations were carried out in Wanyonyi, Namuyenje, Kyetume, and Nagwa, leading to the arrest of 18 individuals involved in criminal activities.

In Kira Road Division, the operation targeted Kiwatule (Waniduuka) and Kamwokya, where security forces arrested 36 suspects. Finally, in Kira Division, operations in Najjera, Kalintunsi, and Bulabira resulted in 2 additional arrests.

The combined efforts from all task teams led to a total of 64 suspects being apprehended. These individuals are currently being held in police custody and will soon face prosecution for their criminal involvement.

During the raids, security forces also recovered significant evidence, including suspected narcotic substances and various housebreaking tools, further strengthening the case against the suspects.

The Uganda Police Force urges all members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to cooperate with law enforcement by providing timely and credible information. These operations reflect the ongoing commitment of the security agencies to keeping Ugandan communities safe, and with the public’s continued support, we will continue to break down criminal networks and protect citizens from harm.

This crackdown represents a significant stride in the effort to maintain law and order across Kampala and its surrounding areas, sending a clear message that criminal activity will not be tolerated.
