Key suspects in the brutal murder and aggravated robbery of Kokunda Patricia have been arrested, following a successful investigation by the Uganda Police Force (UPF). The crime, which took place on April 3, 2026, shocked the residents of Soroti City. At around 4:40 AM, Patricia was attacked, robbed, and fatally shot by a group of armed assailants at Teso Coach Park, located near Goalman Supermarket along Station Road.
Following the tragic event, the police intensified their inquiries and launched a manhunt for the suspects. Their swift actions led to the arrest of four individuals believed to be involved in the crime. The first two arrests were made on the day of the incident, with Okello Alex and Onego Felix taken into custody. These arrests were quickly followed by the apprehension of Epeu Simon, also known as Iboda, who was tracked down in Anyara, Kalaki District. From him, authorities recovered a staggering UGX 7,000,000, which had been stolen from the victim during the robbery.
The police continued their search for the remaining suspects and, on April 4, 2026, managed to capture the suspected shooter, Elacu Alfred, in Orungo, Amuria District. In addition to his arrest, the victim’s smartphone was also recovered after being discarded in a bush in Kichinjani, further linking the suspects to the crime.
While the police have made great strides in solving this case, investigations are still ongoing as they work to recover additional evidence. The arrests of these key suspects mark a significant step toward justice for Kokunda Patricia and her grieving family.
