Police in Kyankwanzi District have launched investigations into the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found abandoned along the Kiboga–Ntwetwe–Nkoko feeder road.The body was discovered on July 14, 2026, by residents of Kisutwa Village in Gayaza Sub-county, Kyankwanzi District, who were shocked by the unusual scene.According to police, the matter was reported at 10:30am by Mr Charles Sempijja, the chairperson of Kisutwa Village, at Gayaza Police Station.Following the report, the Kyankwanzi District Police Command dispatched a homicide team to the scene, where officers processed the area and recorded statements from witnesses.Police said the deceased was an adult female who appeared to be in her twenties. Her body was found wrapped in whitish bed sheets and abandoned by the roadside.The scene of crime officer reported that there were no visible signs of physical violence on the body. Police suspect that the woman could have died at a private health facility before her body was abandoned.The deceased was found without any identification documents, making it difficult for authorities to establish her identity.Police later conveyed the body to the mortuary at Ntwetwe Health Centre IV as investigations continue.The police have appealed to members of the public who may have information that can help identify the deceased to report to Kyankwanzi Police Station and assist with investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.The Wamala Regional Police spokesperson, SSP L. Kigozi, said police are working to establish the identity of the woman and determine how she ended up abandoned along the road.
