Police in Entebbe have successfully recovered a pistol during an intelligence-led operation carried out on 11th April 2026. The operation focused on areas within Wakiso District, including Wamala, Buzzi, Lutaba, and Ssisa Village, and specifically targeted houses under construction in Hossana Estate and Jomayi Estate, as well as known gambling spots.
The action came after public concern over a person suspected of possessing an illegal firearm. Acting on tips and careful planning, police officers conducted the raids, which resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals believed to be involved in unlawful activities.
During the investigation, one of the suspects, identified as Segujja Ronald, cooperated with the officers and led them to the location of the recovered pistol. The weapon has since been secured as an exhibit, ensuring it is no longer a threat to public safety.
Authorities emphasized that all suspects are currently in police custody and will soon be presented in court to face legal proceedings. This operation highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-led policing in curbing illegal activities and ensuring the safety of communities in Entebbe and Wakiso District.
